PROJECT MANAGER

DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager position involves the design, documentation and management of a wide variety of project scales and types throughout California, Arizona and Hawaii.  Candidates should be excellent communicators and have recent experience with multi-family, hospitality, private residential, institutional and/or commercial projects.  This position includes production work as well as collaboration with project team members to achieve a high level of design excellence.  Typical responsibilities include: site analysis, conceptual design, development of design narratives, preparation of schematic presentation materials, production of construction documents, presentations to review boards and clients and construction observation.  Ideal candidates are self-directed, have outstanding creative problem solving skills, and are comfortable accepting responsibility for all aspects of a project from start to finish.

REQUIREMENTS
4-6
yr. minimum post-graduate professional experience at a landscape architecture office.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in landscape architecture.
Experience and confidence managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed landscape architectural drawings and specifications with graphic clarity using office standards: concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
Technical understanding of site design and construction methods and materials.
Ability to prepare quick hand-drawn sketches that clearly convey design ideas.
Experience preparing digital graphics using Adobe InDesign as well as knowledge of graphic design conventions and standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Attention to detail and organization / effective time management skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD / LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D Modeling (SketchUp, Lumion, Revit or Rhino) software.

DESIRED SKILLS
Irrigation design and proficiency with Irrigation F/X.
Knowledge of local CA plants, including native and climate-adapted species.
Recent experience with estate residential design.
Experience with local Santa Barbara regulatory procedures and permitting.
Experience with construction administration and site observation.
Strong design intuition and creative talent.

 

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
